EN Showcase is an annual event where all students from EN 1 through 4 gathers together and present what they have learned throughout the year. The presentations include individual speeches along with dances, musicals and skits planned, practiced and performed by each group. Even though all classes have different English levels and experiences, instead of focusing on showing off their individual proficiency, the showcase emphasizes the themes of “learning as a process.” The preparation helps bring the class together under a common goal, and the students see themselves improving and enjoying the process of learning and presenting. The showcase, ultimately, provides a time of bonding and communal celebration. By the end of the showcase our students are unified as one harmonious group learning and improving together, instead of separate pockets of students competing to outshine each other.
